Earlier this week, Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani suggested the creation of a Premier League 2.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Leeds owner Radrizzani explained why a Premier League 2 will help clubs like the West Yorkshire outfit (click here to read more).
Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan, though, does not seem to agree with the Italian businessman.
Leeds Live quotes the former owner of Premier League side Palace as saying: “You (Leeds United) might not have much in common with Macclesfield or Grimsby but you are tied to them by the fact that 72 clubs in the Football League negotiate together collectively.”
Pushing for promotion
Leeds have not featured in the Premier League since 2004, but the West Yorkshire outfit are going strong in the Championship at the moment.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side are third in the Championship table at the moment with 23 points from 12 matches, just two points behind leaders Sheffield United.
Under Bielsa, Leeds are playing wonderful football, and the Elland Road faithful are optimistic that this is the season when the team get promoted to the Premier League.
The West Yorkshire outfit will return to action after the international break when they take on Blackburn Rovers away from home at Ewood Park in the Championship.
