Former chairman does not believe Mauricio Pochettino would not leave Tottenham for Barcelona, and predicts Everton boss Ronald Koeman as a replacement.

Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino offered a firm rebuke to Barcelona speculation this week, telling a press conference it would be impossible for him to take the job, The BBC reported.

This is due to his past spell managing Barcelona’s local rivals Espanyol, which makes an exit unlikely.

Not everybody is buying his comments.

Former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan previously tipped Pochettino to switch to Barcelona, and when the manager’s latest comments were pointed out to him – he doubled down.

Jordan added that he believes Everton’s Ronald Koeman could even replace Pochettino at Spurs.

Jordan uses former Arsenal boss George Graham to make his point, who surprised everybody by crossing the North London divide to manage Tottenham.

If Pochettino did move on, with destination irrelevant, it is not a bad call to claim Koeman would be a candidate to take over, with the Dutchman impressive at Southampton and now Everton – even though the Toffees would fiercely resist it.

The more likely managerial switch would actually be Koeman replacing Luis Enrique at Barcelona, with the Everton boss enjoying a memorable spell at the Nou Camp as a player in the 1990s.
