Sunderland will face Leeds United at the Stadium of Light in the Championship this weekend.
Grayson started his professional club football career at Leeds and managed the West Yorkshire outfit from 2008 until 2012.
The 47-year-old former defender was quite successful in his spell as manager of the Whites, guiding them back to the Championship and then almost taking them to the playoffs.

The Englishman is now in charge of Sunderland, who will face Leeds at the Stadium of Light in the Championship on Saturday evening.
Ahead of the match, Grayson has shared his wish regarding both the clubs.
“I have a big affiliation with that club and if Sunderland go up as champions and Leeds finish second this season, that’s a good way of fulfilling a lot of ambitions and keeping friends happy,” Grayson told The Mirror.

Sunderland got relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season and are one of the favourites to clinch automatic promotion from the Championship this campaign.
The Black Cats have made a good start to the season and will head into the match against Leeds as favourites.
The Whites’ start to the 2017-18 Championship campaign has not been great, but they can certainly finish in the top six as they have a good team and a strong support behind them.
