Simon Grayson has confidently told Sky Sports News (31/01/21 at 3:55 pm) that Leeds won’t be conducting any business on transfer deadline day.
The recently appointed Fleetwood boss also shared that there will be some ‘concern’ for Leeds after both Rodrigo and Raphinha seemingly went off injured during their win at Leicester City on Sunday.
Rodrigo only lasted 21 minutes at the King Power, as Leeds recorded a deserved three points against the Premier League title contenders.
Nonetheless, this is the verdict Grayson provided when asked what business he feels Leeds will conduct today.
“I don’t think Leeds will do anything,” said Grayson. “I don’t think Bielsa is one to do too many deals in January since he has been at the club.
“A bit of concern would be that Rodrigo and Raphinha both went out injured, so hopefully, they aren’t going to be out too long.”
Whilst a deal is always in the offing on Deadline Day given its crazy nature, it is perhaps that more difficult if you are joining Leeds.
The simple reason for that is the sheer effort and running Bielsa demands from his players, which would take time for a new player to get used to.
Therefore, a January deal, no matter how early in the window, would require a new player to adjust and that window is more used for players to have an instant impact given the time of the season.
