Sunderland have signed striker Lewis Grabban on loan from Bournemouth.
Simon Grayson has insisted to Sunderland’s official website that Lewis Grabban will get better.
Sunderland signed Grabban on loan from Bournemouth, but the striker made an inauspicious start to his career at the Stadium of Light.
Grabban featured as Sunderland slipped to a 5-0 pre-season defeat against Celtic last weekend.
The 29-year-old was started out on the wing, and only managed to show brief glimpses of his quality.

But Grayson feels that Grabban will improve, once he gets used to playing with his teammates.
“I thought Lewis (Grabban) did well to say he only joined us in training on Friday for the first time,” Grayson said.
“He played out wide which is a position he can play. He obviously prefers down the middle so that is a positive aspect.
“He will get better and collectively as a team we will get better.”
Sunderland’s defeat to Celtic was highly damaging even though it was in a non-competitive match.
The heavy nature of the loss has caused serious questions to be asked of Grayson’s squad, just before the start of the new campaign.
Sunderland were in dire form last season, and there are now concerns that little will change this term – despite the drop down to a lower division.
Sunderland are involved in the Football League’s curtain raiser on Friday evening, when they take on Derby County.
