Sunderland are set to take on Cardiff City in Championship action at the weekend.

Wilson and O’Shea both missed out on playing for Sunderland against Everton in the Carabo Cup last night.
But Grayson expects to have the defensive pair back and available for selection for his side’s match against Cardiff City on Saturday.
“Marc Wilson wasn’t available due to a groin problem he picked up at the weekend,” Grayson said, following Sunderland’s comprehensive 3-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park.

“He trained Tuesday and it just tightened up so we left him out as a precaution, but hopefully he will be back on Saturday and one or two others might be too.”
The return of Wilson and O’Shea for Sunderland will be a boost for Grayson, as he looks to spark a big improvement in the Black Cats.

Sunderland have made a disappointing start to the campaign, and have won just once in the Championship to date.
But with O’Shea, Wilson and Duncan Watmore all returning to full fitness – Grayson’s options are starting to look stronger.
If Sunderland are able to beat Cardiff, they could move up to 16th place in the Championship table.
