The Sunderland hitman isn’t far away from a return it seems.

Simon Grayson has told Sunderland’s official website that fans will be seeing Lewis Grabban “very soon”.
The 29-year-old striker has been out of action for a month with a hamstring injury.
Grabban joined Sunderland on loan from Bournemouth in the summer and had netted three times in eight games prior to his setback.

And although Grayson stopped short of offering a timeframe on the hitman’s return, he did say that the Black Cats fans can expect him back in the very near future.
“Lewis is working well with the physios. It’s a procedure we’re going through,” he told Sunderland’s official website.
“We don’t rush any player back so we have them for the long, not the short-term, but he’s making good progress and I’m sure he’ll be back in a red-and-white shirt very soon.”

The Wearside outfit need all the help they can get and Grabban’s return will surely help them climb the Championship table.
Grayson’s side sit 23rd in the standings and it’s plain to see that the former Preston boss needs to spark a huge turnaround if the Black Cats are to be competing for a playoff spot come the end of the season.
