Was the Leeds United defender a bit naughty on Boxing Day?
Leeds United beat Preston 4-1 at Deepdale in a feisty Boxing Day clash at Deepdale on Monday afternoon.
Kemar Roofe headed Leeds ahead on 13 minutes, before goals from Hadi Sacko and Souleymane Doukara, either side of Marnick Vermijl’s strike, made it 3-1 to Garry Monk’s side by the time the half-time whistle came.
Former Whites striker Jermaine Beckford was sent off midway through the second half for kicking out at Kyle Bartley, before Pablo Hernandez slotted home a fourth in the closing minutes as Monk’s men completed a rousing victory.

But the incident involving Beckford might not have been the only unsavoury moment in the clash, with Preston boss Simon Grayson claiming that Lilywhites striker Simon Makienok accused Leeds defender Pontus Jansson of stamping on him.
“Simon is also adamant that Jansson stamped on him in the first half,” Grayson told Preston’s official website.
“We don’t like to moan about refereeing decisions, but you like a bit of consistency, which I don’t think there was there today.”

That aside, the win saw United stay fifth in the Championship and consolidated the belief that they can finish in the playoff spots come May.
This was a big statement by Monk and co, and fans will hope that they can maintain their momentum for the visit to Aston Villa on Thursday.
