Former Celtic forward Simon Donnelly has lauded the atmosphere created by Hoops fans at Celtic Park after they won FIFA’s Best Fans Award.
The Bhoys faithful won the award for their tribute to the Lisbon Lions in May, which signified the 50th anniversary of the club winning the European Cup back in 1967. The award was voted on by fans from other clubs on FIFA’s website.
Brendan Rodgers has made Celtic a dominant force again.
Donnelly, 42, who was a part of the Celtic side for six years between 1993 and 1999 and helped the club win one Scottish Premiership title, applauded his old fans on his personal Twitter account.
The former Sheffield Wednesday, St. Johnstone and Partick Thistle man claimed that the infectious atmosphere produced at Celtic Park is something that could never grow old.

During his six-year stay with the 48-time Scottish champions, Donnelly made 181 appearances in green and white and found the back of the net an impressive 44 times.
Along with his one Scottish Premiership medal, the pocket-sized ace also helped the Hoops win the Scottish Cup and the Scottish League Cup both on one occasion.
