Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are said to be close to signing the 20-year-old, but is he reminiscent of a Tottenham hitman?

Simo Valakari has told The Glasgow Evening Times that Alfredo Morelos will bring goals to Rangers, likening him to Tottenham Hotspur hitman Harry Kane.

Rangers seem to be closing in on the 20-year-old Colombian striker who will join the Ibrox club for £1 million, according to The Scottish Sun.

Morelos is at HFK Helsinki at the moment and grabbed an impressive 21 goals in 25 league appearances for the Finnish outfit last season.

Valakari is well aware what the South American can do after managing SFK in Finland, and the 44-year-old says that he reminds him of Tottenham marksman Kane.

“He’s the best player in the country by far,” he said to The GET. “Without him HJK wouldn’t be top of the league.

“He’s scored most of the goals and brings a presence for the team. Other teams pay so much attention to Alfredo and that creates space for everyone else.

“I can still see Rangers are a huge club but they could sell him on definitely. He will bring goals for Rangers and a good player for them. They can build around him because he will score goals.

“Internationally he’s similar to Harry Kane. He can shoot with both feet, is good in the air too, but he works hard for the team. He can link up and pass. He reminds me a lot of him.”

If Morelos is fractionally as lethal as the Spurs star – who netted 29 Premier League goals last term to scoop the Golden Boot for a second season in a row – then Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has a serious talent on his hands.

Caixinha has signed four players for the Gers this summer already – Bruno Alves, Ryan Jack, Dalcio and Fabio Cardoso – and a number of others have been linked.
