Kieran Trippier has stated that Liverpool duo, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson, are ‘two of the best fullbacks in the world’, as he told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.
Liverpool’s fullbacks have supplied seven assists in the Champions League this season, as Trippier shared that he had a ‘similar situation’ during his days at Spurs.
Back then, Trippier, Kyle Walker, Danny Rose and Ben Davies were the ones patrolling the flanks for the north London club.
Whilst the Reds have first-team duo Alexander-Arnold and Robertson, with Konstantinos Tsimikas as the back-up left-back option and Joe Gomez recently playing that right-back role as well.
Nonetheless, Trippier was full of praise for Liverpool’s two creators out wide, as he labelled them as ‘unbelievable’.
“Similiar situation when I was at Tottenham,” said Trippier. “We had myself, Rose and Walker.
“Like I said, it’s always good to have competition and two players in every position.
“Robertson and Trent, they have been unbelievable for the past few years and the numbers speak for themselves. Two of the best fullbacks in the world.”

Trippier will know a lot about Alexander-Arnold’s game after spending a significant time with him on the England scene.
Even though Liverpool’s creative machine from the right is being lauded so highly by his fellow countryman, he still hasn’t cemented his place in Gareth Southgate’s XI.
On one hand, England are blessed with some ridiculous level of players at fullback, no more so than on the right.
But, on the other, there are some who feel that Southgate isn’t the type of coach to get the best out of Alexander-Arnold’s attacking talent.
