Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told BirminghamLive that Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa side play the way his Ibrox club Rangers did.
Gerrard led Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title last season.
The Liverpool legend was appointed the Rangers boss in the summer of 2018.
Gerrard is now in charge of Villa, who will face Liverpool at Anfield in the Premier League on Sunday.
Ahead of the game, Liverpool boss Klopp has given his verdict on how Villa play under Gerrard.
And he thinks that it is quite similar to how Rangers played under the former England international.
Jurgen Klopp makes Rangers and Aston Villa comparison
Klopp told BirminghamLive:“High intensity, what they are doing. What kind of system is it? It’s 4-3-3 or Christmas tree maybe – we are around Christmas, let’s call it a Christmas tree.
“4-3-2-1 is midfield, very lively, really aggressive, a very specific way to attack with really high full-backs, specific kind of protecting with the midfielders, 10s in between the line and a proper striker, whoever it is – (Ollie) Watkins or Ingsy (Danny Ings).
“Last line obviously looks again really settled or confident again, let me say it like this. A good goalie. I think it is really similar, the style of play is similar to Rangers.
“It made him very successful there and now he is already successful there (at Villa). I think they have four games played, nine points – I heard about worse records. I think it’s a proper start, but none of these four games were against us and that’s what we want to bring in.”

Encouraging for Rangers
In our opinion, Rangers fans should be encouraged by Klopp’s comments.
Why?
Well, because the comments from the Liverpool boss, who earns £192,000 per week as salary (Goal), show that he watches Rangers.
Or at least did when Gerrard was the manager of the Gers.
We know that the Scottish Premiership is often looked down upon by Premier League followers.
Yes, it is not exactly an ‘elite’ league, but they have two of the biggest clubs in the world – Rangers and Celtic.
And now we know that Klopp, one of the best managers in the world, actually follows Rangers.
If he did not, then he would not have known how Rangers played under Gerrard,
