Can Tottenham Hotspur win the Premier League title this season?
Tottenham finished third in the Premier League during the 2015-16 campaign and second last season.
“I think the pressure is on United, City and Chelsea,” said Silvestre on The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on talkSPORT on Friday morning (07:52am, October 13, 2017) when asked if Tottenham or Arsenal can challenge for the Premier League title this season.
“I think Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool are outsiders. If they manage to win the league, that would be a bonus for those clubs. That’s how I feel it.”
Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea have the three best squads in the Premier League at the moment.
It is hard to see any other team win the league title this season, but stranger things have happened.
After all, Leicester City won the Premier League title not so long ago without having a single world-class player in their squad at the time.
Tottenham have some wonderful players, such as Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen and Hugo Lloris, and the fans will certainly expect the team to challenge for the league title this season.
Even if Tottenham do not win the championship, it will be a successful season for them if they end up in the top four and qualify for the Champions League group stage for the third year in a row.
