Leeds United have been linked with defender Silvan Hefti.

Leeds United need to bring in another centre back this summer, and Silvan Hefti won’t have been a name high on the wishlist of supporters.
The Whites need added competition with Pontus Jansson, Liam Cooper and Gaetano Berardi, whilst Jansson and Berardi have both been linked with exits.
Fans will hope for a big-name addition, but the Yorkshire Evening Post claimed last month that St Gallen talent Hefti is one name interesting Leeds.
Hefti, 21, has come up through the St Gallen ranks, and now has more than 100 league appearances for the club, whilst also picking up 16 caps for Switzerland across various youth levels.
Rather than being a man mountain, Hefti is more like a Marcelo Bielsa signing; he’s quick and able to play out from the back, but at 6ft 1in, he still has the physical attributes to play in the Championship.
Hefti has a year left on his deal with St Gallen, meaning the Swiss outfit risk losing him for free, or sell him for a decent amount this summer before it gets to that point.

Leeds have now been given every encouragement to make their move for Hefti, as St Gallen sporting director Alain Sutter has told Sport in Switzerland that the defender wants to leave.
“He wants to leave, but this year I’m counting on him,” said Sutter, seemingly adamant that Hefti will still be a key part of the St Gallen defence this coming season.
Yet if Leeds come in and offer St Gallen a fair price, they may not be in a position to reject, knowing that the time is ticking on Hefti’s contract – and Leeds would be wise to move quickly if they want him.
