Everton manager Marco Silva should make the decision to hand Bernard his first Premier League start on Sunday against Arsenal.

The Toffees travel to the Emirates Stadium for a league clash and will need to bounce back from a crushing 3-1 home defeat to West Ham at the weekend.

There were very few positives to take from the West Ham loss, but the display of substitute Bernard certainly offered a glimmer of hope for supporters.

It seems a no-brainer for manager Marco Silva to start the attacker against Arsenal and the diminutive ace looks like he could become a big favourite at Goodison Park, if given a regular run of games.

Bernard arrived at the Merseyside club on a free transfer and has been eased into action by Silva, but now is the perfect time to unleash him fully on the Premier League.

The 26-year-old left-winger looked Everton’s most threatening player off the bench at the weekend, as he displayed some brilliant touches on the ball and a desire to run at defenders.

His energy is certainly something that makes him a good fit with Silva’s style too and fans would surely love to see him get his first 90 minutes under his belt away to Arsenal.

Bernard showed at previous club Shakthar Donetsk he is a serious goal threat and the early signs are that he can repeat that in English football.
