Everton acted quickly in the January transfer window to secure a deal for Cenk Tosun, and it will be intriguing to see how the former Besiktas striker adapts to English football.
It was clear that Everton needed to bolster their attacking options and it is hoped that the arrival of Tosun, who scored 14 goals in 24 games across all competitions for Besiktas this season, will be the answer to their problems.
One player who could work well with Tosun in Gylfi Sigurdsson, with the midfielder having performed impressively of late following a difficult start to his Everton career.
Superb at creating chances, Sigurdsson, who has often been deployed on the left flank recently, has benefited from working under Sam Allardyce and will surely relish the prospect of linking up with Tosun, a player who should be able to make the most of the opportunities that the Iceland international will carve out.
If both players are in form then the combination between Sigurdsson and Tosun could prove to be very effective indeed as Everton seek to continue their ascent under Allardyce.
