Aston Villa are said to need to pay £15 million for Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings.

Signing Tyrone Mings looks like a complete no brainer for Aston Villa now.

The Telegraph claim that Villa can sign Mings from Bournemouth for £15 million, and at that price Dean Smith should have no second thoughts.

Mings’ performances in the Championship over the second half of the campaign mean that he is already worth considerably more than £15 million to Villa.

The centre-back was rock solid as the claret and blues earned promotion to the Premier League.

Mings is settled at Villa already and is loved by his teammates, which means that the transfer appears to have very little risk.

If Smith looked elsewhere, Villa would have to take a gamble on whoever he signed stepping in over pre-season and immediately hitting the ground running.

But with Mings, Villa know exactly what they are getting.

And with the claret and blues having considerable funds to spend, investing £15 million looks like the most obvious transfer move which is on offer to them this summer.
