The Tottenham Hotspur star is reportedly available for transfer this summer, and Liverpool should not hesitate to bring him to Anfield.

Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp will be determined to bolster his ranks at Anfield this summer, with the addition of another world-class centre-back surely topping his list of priorities, and a move for Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld should be a no-brainer.

According to the Mirror, Spurs are prepared to sell the Belgian this summer, and will demand around £55 million for his services – an absolute bargain in today’s ludicrously inflated transfer market.

The 29-year-old is one of the finest centre-backs in world football, and still has plenty of years ahead of him at the very highest level.

Alderweireld could strike up a fantastic partnership with Virgil Van Dijk at the heart of the Reds’ defence, and would give Klopp’s side a whole different look about them.

The Belgium international joined Tottenham from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2015, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £11.5 million, and he has since gone on to establish himself as one of Mauricio Pochettino’s key players.

Alderweireld has refused to commit his long-term future to Spurs, and with a £25 million release clause set to be activated in the summer of 2019, the north London outfit are obviously keen to obtain maximum value for the defender.

Whilst £55 million seems like a lot of money for a 29-year-old, in today’s day and age defenders can play well into their mid-30’s – just look at John Terry, and Liverpool should not hesitate to bring the Spurs man to Merseyside this summer.
