Newcastle United have been linked with the Bournemouth attacker.

With the closure of the transfer window rapidly approaching, Newcastle United have still yet to make any signings this month.
There could still be some activity at St James’ Park, however, with Bournemouth attacker Junior Stanislas having been linked with the club, as reported by The Sunday People (printed edition; 21/01/2018 – page 48).
While it is clear that Newcastle require reinforcements, especially in an attacking sense, it is questionable whether Stanislas would help to significantly improve Rafael Benitez’s side.

Capable of playing as a winger or up front, Stanislas is very skillful, yet he isn’t a particularly prolific player, as demonstrated by the fact that he has scored 11 goals in 53 Premier League games for Bournemouth.
Stanislas has also provided 13 assists in that time, but Newcastle, given their current predicament, are in need of a player who is capable of making an instant impact by scoring regularly and they can ill afford to bring in somebody who only performs well in patches.

Although he can have moments of brilliance, performing consistently has often proved to be problematic for Stanislas and Newcastle should look elsewhere as they seek to strengthen their squad and preserve their Premier League status.
