Gunners boss Arsene Wenger will surely be looking to bolster his midfield options in the summer, with Santi Cazorla still out with a long-term injury and Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey facing uncertain futures in north London.
One specific target that has been mooted is former Arsenal star Oguzhan Ozyakup, with Turkish media outlet Aksam going as far as suggesting that the north London outfit have already offered him a contract, with his contract with Besiktas set to expire in the summer.
The 25-year-old left the Emirates for Besiktas in the summer of 2012, and despite the fact that he has impressed in Turkey, he is surely not good enough to help the Gunners take that next step towards winning the Premier League title.
The Turkey international is an orthodox central midfielder by trade, and is a competent passer of the football, although it could be argued that he lacks the required levels of physicality to be a success in the Premier League.

Since Ozyakup arrived in Turkey, he has chalked up 27 goals and 48 assists in 209 appearances – hardly breathtaking numbers.
Arsenal need a powerful, commanding central midfielder – someone in the mould of club legend Patrick Vieira, if they are to return to past glories.
Ozyakup is a decent performer, but he is not the type of player who will improve the Gunners at this moment in time.
