Rangers left back Lee Wallace has signed a new contract at Ibrox until 2019.

Rangers confirmed on their official website on Monday that captain Lee Wallace has signed a new contract with the club until the summer of 2019.
Wallace, 28, had made his name with Hearts having come up through the ranks with the Edinburgh club, but in 2011 he left Tynecastle for a move to Ibrox.

After just one year with Rangers, Wallace was left with a tough decision. The Gers ran into financial ruin and were sent down to the fourth tier, leading many players – such as Allan McGregor, Steven Whittaker, Steven Davis, Kyle Lafferty and Sone Aluko – to rescind their contracts and leave Glasgow.
However, Wallace didn’t do that. The left back stayed with Rangers and vowed to take the club back to where they belong – and he’s done just that.
Wallace has been a mainstay of the Rangers side as they’ve come back up through the divisions, and captained the club to promotion from the Scottish Championship last season.
Now, Wallace has signed a new contract until the summer of 2019, committing his future to the club he has stuck with through thick and thin ever since his arrival four years ago.
Fans took to Twitter after the announcement on Monday, and the outpouring of support showed just how much Wallace means to the Rangers fans. He was called a legend and a future Hall of Famer for having stuck with the club, and the general belief is that Wallace deserved his new deal after a superb season.
Others feel that, despite landing the likes of Joey Barton, Jordan Rossiter and Clint Hill, keeping Wallace could prove to be the signing of the summer for Rangers as they return to the top flight…
