Sunderland have been linked with making a move for the Liverpool youngster.

If Sunderland are to lose Lewis Grabban, then it will make signing Ben Woodburn from Liverpool all the more important for Chris Coleman.

According to the Chronicle, Grabban could be sold by Bournemouth in January, which would bring to an end his loan spell at the Stadium of Light.

Losing Grabban would be a major blow for the Black Cats, as the striker has scored the bulk of their goals this season.

Grabban has been able to notch 10 times, despite Sunderland’s struggles, and without him in their line-up, Coleman’s forward options look very weak.

Coleman has already identified a striker he would like to bring to the Stadium of Light in January, in the form of of Liverpool’s Woodburn, according to the Sun.

And if Grabban is to leave in January, bringing in Woodburn will be vital to Sunderland’s chances.

The Welsh international forward may be young, but he looks to have masses of potential.

Woodburn is blessed with pace and he is a clinical finisher, and his arrival may just soften the blow of Grabban’s potential departure.

However, if Sunderland miss out on snapping the Liverpool prospect up, and Grabban leaves, then that could spell disaster for Coleman’s side’s chances of staying in the division.
