Tottenham Hotspur are said to be considering making a move for the Inter Milan midfielder.

Inter are open to selling the Portuguese international, and Spurs are said to have been impressed by his performances at West Ham.
Mario spent the back end of last season on loan with the Hammers, and Tottenham were keen viewers of his performances.

Spurs are now said to be interested in buying Mario, but if they paid over £30 million for him, it would be a mistake.
Mario simply isn’t good enough to drive Tottenham on to the next level, and he would only add further depth to their squad.
While Mario is clearly a capable Premier League player, he does not look like a star, and he would hardly pose a threat to Dele Alli or Christian Eriksen’s starting place.

Tottenham are at a level now where they really need any signings they make to advance them as a team.
And Spurs would be better off looking beyond Mario, and investing their money elsewhere this summer.
