The Liverpool striker has been mentioned as a possible solution to West Brom’s struggles in front of goal.

With the January transfer window rapidly approaching there has been much speculation about possible transfers and West Bromwich Albion manager Alan Pardew has admitted that he would be interested in signing Danny Ings on loan from Liverpool.
The striker has spent the majority of his Liverpool career on the sidelines owing to a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament but has been building up his fitness by playing for the club’s U23 side this season, while he made his first Premier League appearance of the season as a substitute in the draw with rivals Everton last weekend.
As reported by The Telegraph, Pardew said: “I’d be foolish not to say I don’t like Danny Ings because I quite like him. It’s a shame about his injury – he’s had to battle back and everyone wishes him well.”

It is clear that West Brom need to bring in a new striker next month given that their joint-top scorers – Salomon Rondon, Jay Rodriguez and Hal Robson-Kanu – only have two goals each.
However, West Brom need a player who will be able to make an instant impact and who can make a major contribution in their quest to avoid relegation.

Ings is certainly capable of finding the net with regularity but the 25-year-old’s injury record is a major concern, especially as he has barely featured for the Liverpool first-team this season.
Asking Ings to play regularly in the heat of a relegation battle may be too demanding for him and West Brom would perhaps be better served turning their attention elsewhere as they look to sign another striker.
