Wolves are linked to Jose Sa, who is back-up at Porto.
Wolves are weighing up a move for Porto goalkeeper Jose Sa, report Portuguese newspaper A Bola.
Sa is known to Wolves’ former Porto boss Nuno Santo, who led the Molineux side to promotion this season.
Reuniting with Santo and former teammate Ruben Neves would be a smart move for Sa, who is desperate for regular football.
The goalkeeper is 25-years-old and has seen his career stunted by Porto signing Iker Casillas in 2015.
Speaking 15 months ago, Sa expressed his impatience, quoted by Sapo Desporto: “I hope to take on the goal of FC Porto as soon as possible.”
So far he has not managed it, and there is no shame in being unable to dislodge three times Champions League winner Casillas.
Casillas has just turned 37 and is not ready to relinquish his gloves yet.
The Mail reported last week how he has just signed a one-year contract extension.
After starring for Portugal at under-21 level years ago, Sa is nowhere near winning a senior cap and this is due to a lack of regular football.
A move for Wolves would be smart for him, and he would fancy his chances of dislodging John Ruddy a lot more than he would Iker Casillas.
A loan switch could suit Sa better in case Casillas retires next summer and his adaptation to England does not work out, but if Wolves can get him to commit permanently then they will have done well.
