Serge Aurier says he could not turn down the chance to play for Spurs.

New Tottenham Hotspur signing Serge Aurier says he could not turn down the opportunity to play for the club.
Aurier clinched his move to Spurs from Paris Saint-Germain on transfer deadline day, having fallen down the pecking order at the French side.

The Ivory Coast international said: “The salary counts little. Today, I want to be in a club where I have to have fun, to have fun.
“If I had focused on the financial aspect, I confess that I would have stayed in Paris where the contract that was proposed to me was very interesting. More interesting than the first.
“I signed a five-year contract in Tottenham to experience other sensations and remain one of the best right-backs in the world.”

Aurier’s attitude is just what Tottenham fans should be wanting to hear from their exciting new signing.
The defender must battle Kieran Trippier for the right-back spot at Spurs as he will be fighting for a spot in order to enhance his own international chances for England.
The competition for places is just what Spurs need and should benefit the team. Aurier is not the character to shy away from a battle and his addition only enhances the club’s defensive options.
