Newcastle United should tread carefully, amid rumours about signing the Liverpool man.
Newcastle United have, according to The Daily Mail, asked Liverpool about striker Danny Ings.
Newcastle are in the market for another striker and The Evening Standard reports that Rafael Benitez must stump up £13 million to sign Arsenal’s Lucas Perez.
Given his experience, the Liverpool man, 25, is arguably a better forward than Perez, but Benitez should have a long, hard think about bringing Ings to St James’s Park.

The former Burnley hitman is a very decent centre-forward, hence his presence at Anfield in the first place, but his injury record means that it’s a big risk if the Spaniard signs him.
Ings, who managed 11 Premier League goals for the Clarets two seasons ago, has only started three league matches for the Reds during what’s been an injury-plagued two years.
It will be United’s first season back in the top flight and how successful their return is might well hinge on whether Benitez recruits a prolific goalscorer.
Dwight Gayle and Aleksandar Mitrovic are good strikers but neither are going to hit the 20-goal mark next season.
Ings might be capable of scaling those heights but the truth is that it would be a major gamble for Benitez to sign him with the intention of using him as his first-choice number nine next term.
He could and probably should keep shopping.
