Aston Villa fans have been urged to be patient by owner Tony Xia over January transfers.
Aston Villa owner Tony Xia has taken to Twitter to urge fans to be patient as they demand new signings are brought to the club.
Villa have slipped to ten point off a play-off place after Saturday’s 1-0 defeat away at Wolverhampton Wanderers, and a top-six spot is starting to look unlikely for Steve Bruce’s side.

Bruce needs reinforcements this month to stand any chance of getting into the top six, and he’s so far signed just one player, with goalkeeper Sam Johnstone joining on loan from Manchester United until the end of the season.
More new faces are needed, and whilst fans are desperate to see signings arrive, speculation continues to surround the club. The Sun report that Bruce wants a new midfielder, with Tom Cairney, Henri Lansbury, Conor Hourihane and Adlene Guedioura all targeted, whilst The Mirror claim that Villa remain interested in signing Middlesbrough striker Jordan Rhodes.

Right now though, no deals look imminent for Villa, and owner Tony Xia has taken to Twitter to respond to fans who are growing increasingly agitated at the lack of movement in the transfer market.
Xia firstly urged fans to be patient, as whilst Villa have their targets, clubs are slowing down the process right now, and Villa are continuing to push for deals
The Villa owner added that Villa will certainly get business done before the transfer deadline in two weeks, but doesn’t know exactly when players will arrive, as their target’s clubs want to keep playing them.
Finally, Xia did say that there’s a ‘better than 50% chance’ that Villa have a new face in the squad to take on Preston North End this weekend, whilst joking that fans may have to kidnap their targets to make sure Villa complete deals.
