Everton have been linked with a loan move for the Chelsea defender.

Left-back remains a problem position for Everton, with Cuco Martina not a natural there, while Leighton Baines remains sidelined.

Everton surely need to bring in a new left-back for the closure of the transfer window and they have been linked with a loan move for Chelsea’s Baba Rahman, as reported by The Sun.

Rahman hasn’t played this season as he has built up his fitness following a cruciate ligament injury, and bringing in the defender would represent a considerable risk for Everton.

So far during his Chelsea career, Rahman has made just 15 Premier League appearances for the club, during which his performance levels varied considerably.

Rahman often provides a threat going forwards but he frequently gets caught out of position defensively and he will surely take time to build up his fitness levels after an extended spell on the sidelines.

Last season Rahman went on loan to Schalke, but Everton should steer clear of making an approach for the Ghana international and should look elsewhere in their quest to bring in a new left-back as this deal is too much of a risk.
