Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter in celebration after Marcelo Bielsa confirmed he is staying at Elland Road.

There were a few lingering doubts about the Argentine’s future in Yorkshire, while there is always reason to be cautious given the manager’s perceived unpredictability.

He has already walked out of two jobs during his coaching career – he left the Argentina national team and also quit his role at Lazio after just two days.

However, the Elland Road faithful can now rest assured the eccentric magician will remain at the club this season.

Bielsa said: “Everything has been sorted and it’s definite – I will be here this season.”

The 65-year-old steered Leeds back into the big time last term, amassing 93 points – ten more than second-place West Brom. The club last appeared in the Premier League 16 years ago.

Sporting director Victor Orta has been busy strengthening Leeds’ ranks. The transfer guru has completed the signing of Spain international Rodrigo for £26 million.

He has also overseen the £13 million arrival of German international Robin Koch following complications in bringing Ben White back to the club.
