Billy Whitehouse is leaving Leeds United.
Leeds signed Billy Whitehouse from Doncaster last year
Billy Whitehouse has confirmed via Twitter he is set to be released by Leeds United.
Whitehouse signed last summer from Doncaster Rovers, with the Doncaster Free Press reporting last August that an undisclosed fee was paid by the Whites.
Now the midfielder’s career at Elland Road appears over after less than a full year at the club with his contract set to expire in June.
Whitehouse sent a message on Twitter thanking all at Elland Road for their support.
Whitehouse was bought to supplement Leeds’ academy side which were short of players, with a view to him potentially stepping up to the first team.
The under-23 team had a tough campaign, finishing bottom of their division and Whitehouse did not impress on his only appearance for the first team.
The 20-year-old was a surprise starter in Leeds’ FA Cup fourth round clash against non-league Sutton United, a match they humiliatingly lost 1-0.
