Wolverhampton Wanderers should consider a summer swoop for the Southampton ace.
Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo will have a lot of work to do during the summer transfer window, if he is to build a squad who are capable of enjoying a successful campaign in the Premier League next season.
One particular area where the Portuguese will want to improve is his wide attacking department, with more competition for the likes of Helder Costa and Ivan Cavaleiro required.
With this in mind, Wolves should consider a move for Southampton winger Sofiane Boufal, who is reportedly available this summer after a bust-up with Mark Hughes, according to the Mirror.
The 24-year-old joined the Saints from Lille in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £16 million, but he has failed to establish himself at St Mary’s.
That doesn’t mean that he is not good enough to succeed in England, however.
Playing for a team that places more emphasis on creative freedom could be just what the Moroccan needs, and Molineux would be the ideal place for him to showcase his talents.
Boufal would provide great competition for the likes of Costa and Cavaleiro, and he would offer Nuno somewhat of an X-Factor – something that the Black Country outfit might just need in the top flight next term.
It is unclear as to how much the Saints would demand for the Morocco international’s services, but Wolves certainly possess the financial clout to tempt the south coast outfit into selling, and if Nuno does bring Boufal to Molineux, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for the club.
