Tottenham Hotspur academy product Cameron Carter-Vickers has finally found a home where he is flourishing.
Years after struggling out on-loan, Carter-Vickers, who has seemingly become a forgotten man, is now thriving at Bournemouth, as he scored a crucial 88th-minute winning goal against Bristol City on Wednesday night.
The 23-year-old is out-of-contract at Tottenham at the end of the season and Bournemouth fans want the centre-back signed up on a permanent basis.
You would expect Spurs won’t be offering him a new deal given his age and the fact that he hasn’t been used by the North London club since 2017.
But whatever happens, after yet another dominant display from the American, those in the South Coast want him on their doorstep in the summer.
They hold the upper hand given that he is already at the club, his contract will expire in a few months and it should be pretty straightforward to negotiate a deal.
But it would be something else if he helped Bournemouth earn promotion and then he’s rocking up at Tottenham next season.
There is every chance that can happen because Jonathan Woodgate’s side are sitting in the play-off places, as the Bournemouth supporters were delighted with CCV yesterday:
