Ian Wright urged Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to ‘sign the thing’ on Instagram after he netted a brace to help Arsenal beat Manchester City 2-0 in the FA Cup final on Saturday.

David Beckham’s son, Romeo, also sent his own message to the Arsenal man, which simply read ‘my striker’.

It was a day to remember for Aubameyang and the Arsenal team, who perhaps produced one of their best performances in a very, very long time.

This was Wright’s full message to Aubameyang: ‘My striker!!!! Sign the thing man!!!!’ finished with some heart emojis.

In truth, it has been a season to forget the Gunners, who sacked Unai Emery in December, but that seems a very, very long time ago now.

Whilst performances and results have still been up and down since restart. During these final few matches, the North London club have showcased their worth.

Against the top two sides in the country – Liverpool and Man City – they have been triumphant and can now dream of winning some silverware.
