Wolverhampton Wanderers finished the season with a 1-0 win over Preston North End at Molineux.

Wolves fans have been taking to Twitter to heap praise upon Silvio after his display in their final day victory over Preston North End at Molineux that ensured a 15th place finish in the Championship.

The 29-year-old summer signing has barely featured for Paul Lambert’s men since arriving, with his involvement against the Lilywhites seeing him make just his fourth league appearance of the campaign largely due to a long-term injury that he suffered back in December.

However, he showed that Wolves should certainly consider taking up the one-year option within the contract he signed following his departure from Atletico Madrid last year (via Express and Star) with an excellent display in the 1-0 win.

Following a disappointing campaign for the club where they spent considerably more time worrying about getting dragged into a relegation fight than dreaming about a promotion challenge, it will be no surprise if Lambert looks to shift a number of players off the books.

And while some may have suspected that former Portugal international Silvio may have been one of the players to be moved on – due to his lack of game-time – there appears to be a large portion of supporters who want to see the defender given another season to try and build upon his promising display against Simon Grayson’s men.
