Some Celtic supporters are urging the Bhoys to sign up one of their players’ former teammates.
Speaking via Celtic’s official Twitter page earlier on Thursday, Hoops defender Hatem Abd Elhamed named Anthony Nwakaeme as the best he’s played with – describing the Trabzonspor winger as ‘unreal’.
Elhamed and Nwakaeme spent a season together at Hapoel Be’er Sheva, for whom the latter played twice against the Bhoys in 2016 – and set up a goal in his then side’s 5-2 defeat at Celtic Park.
But the Nigerian joined Trabzonspor in a £1 million transfer two years later.
His impressive form has continued Turkish football, where he has scored or made 47 goals in 70 games.
And after chasing up Elhamed’s response, the following Celtic fans discussed bringing Nwakaeme, who turned 31 earlier this year, to Glasgow.
He was the best player on the park when Beer Sheva beat us 2-0. Get him signed, **** it

Celtic have seen two players depart in Nwakaeme’s position since the end of the 2019-20 season.
And it is possible that a replacement could be sought to replace those two -Jonny Hayes and Daniel Arzani.
