Aston Villa fans have praised reported target, Caleb Chukwuemeka, for scoring against Birmingham City on Saturday.
The 19-year-old scored the winning goal as Northampton beat Lee Bowyer’s side 3-2 in a pre-season friendly.
Given the rumours surrounding Chukwuemeka’s future, that goal would have done him the world of good, even if it was in a friendly game.
It has been previously suggested that Villa want to bring the teenager to B6 this summer, along with several other English and Scottish clubs.
Caleb’s younger brother, Carney, is already in Villa’s ranks and is probably thought of as their best prospect.
So, it’s understandable why Villa fans were loving it when his older brother was banging in the winner against the Blues.
Given that the club’s chasing Caleb Chukwuemeka, it would be a surprise if he stays on at Northampton beyond this summer.
It seems logical that a move to Villa Park might materialise, especially given that his younger brother won the FA Youth Cup last season.
But other interested parties, such as Rangers and Spurs, will have something else to say about that.
