Blackpool supporters praised Arsenal academy product Daniel Ballard for helping the club secure a crucial 3-0 first leg win in the League One play off semi finals on Tuesday.
The Arsenal loanee played the entire game as the Seaside outfit took a huge advantage going into Friday’s second leg showdown.
Ballard moved to Blackpool from Arsenal last summer and he may well end it by helping them earn promotion to England’s second tier.
Whilst Arsenal struggle on the domestic and European circuit this season, the one constant, whether it’s been with the senior side or those outside of the club, has been the youngsters.
From Joe Willock to Ballard himself in the colours of the Tangerine, there is some serious hope for those frustrated and angry Arsenal fans.
Unless Blackpool produce the collapse of all collapses, more than likely, they should be heading for the League One play off finals.
And if they earn promotion to the Championship then it will be interesting to see if Arsenal allow Ballard to continue his journey with the club.
For his own development, whether Blackpool earn promotion or not, it’s best that he does play Championship football next season, as a call up to the Arsenal senior side might be a bit too soon.
Plus, Mikel Arteta is jam-packed in the centre-back department and the last thing he needs is another defender in his 25 man squad.
Either way, Blackpool supporters have been seriously impressed with the Arsenal 21-year-old and they want him on their books again:
