Some Liverpool fans on social media have been reacting after the club posted images of Harvey Elliott doing work with a ball on Twitter.
What’s the story with Elliott?
The youngster picked up a severe injury against Leeds back in September, and it was thought that his dislocated ankle would keep him out of action for a long time.
However, at every stage of his recovery Elliott has defied expectations so far, and it looks as though he’s now verging on a return.
He’s back on the grass and he’s back working with the ball, and that’s a brilliant sign.
Elliott could return to full team training in January, and a return to action may not be too far behind that.
Great news
This is absolutely brilliant to see.
When Elliott went down against Leeds, we all feared the worst immediately.
Physios immediately ran onto the pitch and the teenager’s teammates looked horrified, but, luckily, this doesn’t seem to have been a career-altering injury.
A dislocated ankle will have been painful, and it has kept him out for three months to date, but his recovery seems to be going brilliantly, and now he’s finally back doing some ball work at Kirkby.
Fingers crossed we can see this young man back in action sooner rather than later, because he looked like a real prospect before going down against Leeds.
