Is the Newcastle United man headed for PSV? Not according to his agent.
The agent of Newcastle United attacker Siem de Jong has rubbished suggestions that the Magpies have offered his client to PSV Eindhoven, speaking to The Chronicle.
The 28-year-old spent the 2016-17 season on loan with the Eredivisie outfit following Newcastle’s relegation to the Championship.
Manager Rafael Benitez has led them straight back to the Premier League and De Jong was involved in a 2-1 friendly win at Hearts this week, prompting suggestions that the Spanish manager might use him in the top flight next term.

When it was put to his agent Louis Laros that United had offered De Jong to PSV on a permanent basis, his representative said to The Chronicle: “That’s absolute nonsense.
“I really know nothing of that. Whether the club would have done behind my back I don’t know, but that seems unlikely because I have good contacts with Newcastle.”
De Jong has only managed one Premier League goal in what has been an injury-ravaged three-year stint at Newcastle, having initially joined under Alan Pardew.
The former Ajax talent has only made 22 top-flight appearances for the Magpies, but will he add to that number next season? Only time will tell.
He was injured when Benitez originally took the job at St James’s Park in March 2016, meaning that the Netherlands international – who has six caps – has never really had much of a chance to impress the Spanish manager, making only cameo appearances.
He scored six goals in 10 Eredivisie starts last season.
