Newcastle United midfielder Siem De Jong has struggled with injury ever since moving to St. James’ Park.
De Jong joined Newcastle back in 2014, but he has barely made an impact at St. James’ Park.
A series of injury problems have stopped De Jong breaking into Newcastle’s starting line-up.
The attacking midfielder was loaned out to PSV last term, and there were fears that he could move on this summer.

However, De Jong suggests that he wants to stay and fight for his place in Newcastle’s first-team.
And the Dutch international is determined to prove that he does have the ability to be a star at St. James’ Park.
“I will talk to the manager because I want to prove myself at Newcastle,” De Jong said.
“I still feel I haven’t started here. It bothers me that I haven’t been able to do that. I wish it was different, but I can’t change that now.
“I’m disappointed about my years here until now. I want it to be a different story.”
De Jong may get his wish at Newcastle, as Rafael Benitez’s side haven’t strengthened as much as anticipated.
Newcastle were expected to bring in another attacking midfielder, but they have failed to do so over the transfer window to date.
De Jong will be in competition with Ayoze Perez for a place in Newcastle’s starting line-up.
