Newcastle United crock is currently out on loan at PSV Eindhoven.

When Newcastle United signed Dutch international Siem de Jong hopes were high that the Ajax man could become a star for the Toon.

Unfortunately, his stay at the club was decimated by injury problems.

He suffered from a groin tear, a collapsed lung and a lacerated eye during his spell at St James’ Park – featuring just 26 times in two seasons and scoring two goals.

This summer, with Newcastle relegated, he was sent back to Holland – joining his brother and fellow Newcastle flop Luuk de Jong at PSV Eindhoven.

So far he has impressed with his performances back in Holland – even scoring in a 1-1 draw against former team Ajax at the weekend.

But Newcastle fans will not be surprised to hear that his season has just hit a major road bump.

It is reported by Eindhovens Dagblad that he is due to be out of action until March with a groin tear and Newcastle fans will not exactly reel in shock.

It is a big blow for de Jong however, who had recently started to find his feet again.

But his injury problems continue to threaten the progress he makes in the game.
