Graeme Murty has been appointed the Glasgow Rangers manager, and former Ibrox striker Martyn Waghorn, Brighton and Hove Albion’s Steve Sidwell and Reading have reacted on Twitter.
Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Steve Sidwell has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Rangers appointing Graeme Murty as their new manager.
Murty has been appointed as the Rangers manager until the rest of the season, having been in charge of the first team since October following the departure of Pedro Caixinha.
Results under the 43-year-old have been very positive, as Rangers are very much in the race for the runners-up spot in the Scottish Premiership.
With a little bit of luck, perhaps the Gers could even challenge Old Firm rivals Celtic for the league title.
Sidwell, who is now at Premier League club Brighton, played with Murty at Reading, and the 35-year-old central midfielder has expressed his delight at the former Scotland international defender getting the Rangers managerial job.
Reading, who are now in the Championship in England, have also sent a message to Murty, and so has former Rangers striker Martyn Waghorn, who joined Ipswich Town in the summer transfer window after leaving the Gers.
