Chris Sutton was left fuming with an 11th minute incident involving Jeremie Frimpong during Celtic’s 3-2 win over LOSC Lille.
The former Manchester City full-back smashed into the advertising hoardings after being shoved by Domagoj Bradarić.
Sutton described the incident as ‘sickening’ on Twitter, and questioned why Frimpong was allowed to return to the pitch so quickly without a proper check on the youngster’s head.

The ex-Celtic and Chelsea striker’s comments come amid a time where concussion protocols are a hot topic in football.
It comes after Wolves striker Raul Jimenez and Arsenal centre-back David Luiz collided last week, with the Mexico international needing to have surgery on a fractured skull.
Strangely though, Luiz was allowed to stay on after being bandaged up, even though his wound was visibly bleeding through his bandage.

As reported by The Guardian, concussion substitutes could come into the Premier League as early as next year.
This would give teams an extra substitute in case of a serious head injury to one of their players.

Why these aren’t already in place seems a bit baffling.
Head injuries are arguably the most severe in football, and more needs to be done to ensure players don’t suffer long-term damage.
