Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left frustrated with Gareth Bale starting three games in a week for Wales at Euro 2020 yesterday.

Jose Mourinho constantly stated that Bale wasn’t fit enough to start three games for Tottenham during his time there.

Even Ryan Mason seemed reluctant to use the Welshman is a permanent starter, to protect him from injury.

However, since representing his country – Bale has appeared to have no concerns over his fitness.

The 31-year-old has now featured in every game for Wales so far, with their qualification to the knockout stages confirmed.

And Tottenham fans feel that Bale starting again yesterday was proof that he was underused during his second spell in North London.

The dream return all over?

For Tottenham Bale’s return didn’t work out as they had hoped.

Although the veteran winger did show flashes of his undoubted quality, and his scoring record was always strong, he was often overlooked by Mourinho.

The Athletic now report that Bale isn’t planning on coming back to Spurs, which will detract from the quality of Tottenham’s attacking options next season.
