Rangers have been rocked by the news that Joe Aribo could miss up to six weeks of football.
According to Gers boss Steven Gerrard, the Nigeria international is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury.
This was shaping up to be a huge year for Aribo, who was one of Rangers’ stand-out players during their pre-season campaign.
And although it still can be, this is a bit of a blow for him and the light Blues.
Here’s how Rangers fans are reacting to the news on Twitter this morning:
It’s an even bigger blow when you consider the fact that Rangers go to Celtic on October 17.
The Old Firm derbies are always massive, but they could be a lot more important this season because of what’s at stake, with the Bhoys going for 10 Premiership titles in a row.
The head-to-head encounters could be the difference between success and failure for the Ibrox outfit and therefore Gerrard needs his best players available for the derbies.
Whether Aribo is available for Parkhead next month remains to be seen.
