James Maddison is a player in demand, with Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur and Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United linked with the Leicester City attacking midfielder.
Tottenham and Newcastle linked with James Maddison
Earlier this month, 90min reported that Tottenham and Newcastle want to sign Maddison from Premier League rivals Leicester in the summer transfer window.
Maddison is one of the best English playmakers in the Premier League, and the 25-year-old would make Newcastle or Tottenham better.
Gary Lineker, though, is hoping that Leicester do not sell Maddison.
The former Tottenham and Leicester striker said to ex-Manchester City star Micah Richards on Match of the Day on BBC One (10:54pm, August 13, 2022) not to big up Maddison.
Richards said: “Maddison is top-notch.”
Lineker responded: “He is. Stop trying to sell him. Shut up!”

Could a transfer happen?
In our view, Tottenham Hotspur could be able to sign James Maddison from Leicester City, but the North London club could have to pay a lot of money.
There is speculation that the Foxes want as much as £60 million for the 25-year-old.
Would Tottenham be willing to pay that much?
Now, Leicester may not be having the best of times on the pitch, but they are a wealthy and established club in the Premier League who will not be forced to sell their best players on the cheap.
