Rio Ferdinand has told his official YouTube channel that David Moyes has ‘shut everybody up’ at West Ham.
The former centre-back admitted that when Moyes joined West Ham, he questioned whether he warranted the shot at managing the club after a few ‘indifferent’ spells elsewhere.
This is, of course, is the second time Moyes is managing West Ham after helping them survive during his first spell before being relieved of his duties and Manuel Pellegrini coming in.
And even though Ferdinand had his doubts about the Scotsman, he has praised him for the job he has done in East London and how he has proved him wrong.
“I am pleased for David Moyes,” said Ferdinand. “I gave him some stick for what happened at Manchester United. The way things panned out. Probably for me as much as it was for him.
“It’s another one of those things. With hindsight, he would have approached the Manchester United situation very differently now and with the experiences he has had.
“He had a number of indifferent periods at a couple of clubs and I thought ‘how has he got the opportunity to go to West Ham?’ He hadn’t been doing it at a few clubs.
“How’s he getting this opportunity? Does he warrant it? But he has gone in there and shut everybody up. Speaking to players at the football club, they love him. His reputation was hanging by a thread, at that point. Re-stabilised himself and the club.”

At the start of the season, when West Ham were beaten by Newcastle on the opening day, those in Claret & Blue were dreading the worst.
After narrowly surviving relegation during the previous season then you couldn’t blame the West Ham fans for thinking they were heading down the same road once again.
But following that epic 3-3 comeback against Spurs, those at the London Stadium charged their fortunes around and now are now planning for a deserved European tour.
