Glasgow Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty has enjoyed a superb year away from Ibrox.
Several Shrewsbury fans have taken to Twitter to respond to Greg Docherty’s message to mark the end of his loan spell ahead of his return to Rangers in the summer.
Docherty has enjoyed an outstanding year away from Ibrox, scoring 10 goals in all competitions and sweeping up at the club’s end of season awards.
Of all of the loanees currently away from the Gers, Docherty appears to have been the one that has done the best job of proving a point to Steven Gerrard. There were calls from fans for the 22-year-old to have been brought back to his parent club in January, and his impressive form has continued to catch the eye of the Ibrox faithful.
It is going to be a difficult task for the former Hamilton man to break into the Gers first-team upon his return. But he has certainly done his chances no harm at all.
And it appears that most of the Shrews fans on social media believe that Docherty will be a huge asset to the Light Blues squad next season as they responded to his message thanking them after his loan spell came to an end.
Plenty have named Docherty the best loanee that Shrewsbury have had, and backed the midfielder to go and become a major success at Ibrox from next season.
