Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on Diogo Jota and admitted that he is ‘not surprised’ that he has had an ‘immediate impact’ for Liverpool again, as he told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.
The 24-year-old was on the scoresheet for Liverpool as they recorded a deserved 1-0 win over Wolves on Monday night.
It was a happy return for Jota to his old stomping ground and he is sending out the message once again that he needs to be a certain starter in this Liverpool side.
Nonetheless, after Monday night’s win against Wolves, Klopp was full of praise for Jota who ‘just shows his class’.
“For Diogo, I am not surprised that he has had an immediate impact again,” said Klopp. “You should not take things like that for granted because he was out for a long time.
“He is playing now his third game, not all of them 90 minutes but he was able to start and have a real impact.
“So, that’s helpful for us and it just shows the class of the boy.”

Roberto Firmino is still on the sidelines with an injury and it will be interesting to see where he fits in when he returns.
Given Liverpool’s drop in form and performances during these past few months, it does seem as though they are better off with Jota in the forward line instead of Firmino.
The change at the back – Ozan Kabak and Nat Phillips pairing up together with Fabinho in the midfield – has worked a treat, so doing the same with Jota might just be the ideal scenario.
